First Larry Crowne Clip: Tom Hanks Flirts With Julia Roberts On A Moped

Because he presented an Oscar last night, but also because he's Tom Hanks and does whatever he wants, the actor spent a good chunk of time on the couch of Jimmy Kimmel Live! after last night's Oscar ceremony, participating in a pre-taped Toddlers and Tiaras parody, shooting the breeze, and also talking up his upcoming summer romantic comedy Larry Crowne, which will be the second film he directed after 1996's That Thing You Do!. While he was there he also debuted the first clip from the movie, in which he plays a man who returns to community college after losing his job and falls for his teacher (Julia Roberts).

You can see the clip below, in which Hanks-- on a moped-- attempts to flag down Roberts while she's singing opera in her car. It's a cute scene, though its really just "Hey, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts are famous and likable, check them out." Though given how charming the two of them are, the entire movie could probably succeed based on that alone. Hanks claims when introducing the clip that he's never looked cooler in a film, but I'm pretty sure he's underestimating the amazing power of the giant piano in Big. Larry Crowne hits theaters on July 1, so if you're not in the mood to see Transformers: Dark of the Moon that weekend, you'll know exactly where to go.
