First Look At Chloe Moretz In Let Me In

UPDATE: Overture Films has provided us with our own high-res version of the image, which you can see below.

Between (500) Days of Summer and especially Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz seems to have proven that she can do pretty much anything, but there's still a lot of reason to doubt what she might bring to Let Me In. The remake of the Swedish film Let the Right One In casts Moretz as Abby, a "girl" who is actually a vampire who is hundreds of years old, and in the original book, not a girl but a castrated boy. As played by Lina Leandersson in the first film, the character is ethereal, weird and beautiful, not quite human but also achingly relatable. You fall for her even if you're a little afraid of her.

Now that Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first image of Moretz as Abby, which you can see above, we know how close she might come to Leandersson's work, and the first image isn't too promising. Granted, it's just a picture of Morentz looking through a window with an intense, somewhat blank look on her face, and it doesn't seem to be from the same scene that brought us that iconic image of Leandersson with her face covered in blood. So don't take this picture as evidence that Let Me In will be soft where Let the Right One In was challenging. In fact, I'm not really sure what you should think it means, other than that Moretz keeps bringing it in the most unexpected career for a tween that we can remember.
