Will Ferrell and Adam McKay have already lined up a star studded cast for the in-production Anchorman: The Legend Continues. In addition to getting Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner to return, the sequel has already brought on Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, John C. Reilly, James Marsden, Meagan Good and Dylan Baker in various parts both known and unknown. But the names aren't done coming yet.
Deadline has learned that House of Lies' Josh Lawson - who co-starred with Ferrell in last year's The Campaign - and Greg Kinnear have both lined up parts in Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Like some of their other co-stars, their roles remain a mystery, as does the overall plot. Thus far it has only been confirmed that the movie will be a musical and that the story will find the Channel 4 news team going from their home in San Diego to New York. Ford will be playing a legendary news anchor, Wiig will be a romantic interest for Carell's Brick Tamland, Marsden is said to be playing Ron Burgundy's rival, and Good will be Burgundy's boss.
Filming is currently underway in Atlanta, Georgia with McKay directing from a script he co-wrote with Ferrell. Paramount will release the film on December 20th.
The first Anchorman had a ridiculous number of cameos, including Tim Robbins, Ben Stiller, Luke Wilson, Danny Trejo and many more, but who would you like to see sign on for the sequel? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
