Imperioli In Search Of Lovely Bones

I guess Peter Jackson has escaped off of some people’s radar. With the once-cheap-horror director turning away from the big budget epics that made him a household name, some people seem to be less interested in his work. Not this guy though. The more I hear about his next picture, The Lovely Bones the more interested I am.

The latest news is a new name to add to the list that includes Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Ryan Gosling, newcomer Saoirse Ronan, and (potentially) Stanley Tucci (we still haven’t gotten final confirmation on his status – just that he’s in talks). Now “Sopranos” star Michael Imperioli will join the cast as Len Fenerman, the detective investigating the death of young Susie Salmon.

This is an interesting move. While I really like Imperioli, he’s about as far away as I would have imagined Fenerman based on the book. That doesn’t mean this is bad casting by any means, however. It’s just a different approach then I would have used. Good thing I’m not the one making movies, eh?
