Jellystone Park Goes Live-Action
I have as many fond memories of Yogi the Bear as anyone else does, but I've always preferred him in his hand-drawn, 10-minute-long adventures rather than anything drawn-out or, God forbid, live-action. But I don't make movies, and Yogi isn't exactly pulling in millions of dollars in re-runs, so of course, he and Boo-Boo will be stealing picnic baskets on the big screen.
The Hollywood Reporter announced that Surf's Up director Ash Brannon will be in charge of the movie, with the writers of the new Rock movie The Tooth Fairy, Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia, writing the screenplay. The movie will be inspired by last year's surprise hit Alvin and the Chipmunks, and that information alone should be enough to scare you. Human characters will get to take part in the fun, while Yogi and Boo-Boo will remain animated.
