John Goodman Joins The Internship As Vince Vaughn And Owen Wilson's Big Boss

Is there anybody in Hollywood who isn’t in Shawn Levy’s The Internship? Ever since the project was announced, we’ve handled a steady stream of casting confirmations tied to the ever-growing ensemble comedy. At first, we thought Levy would hitch his wagon to the reunion of Wedding Crashers stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Apparently he has much bigger plans than that.

John Goodman and Eric Andre are the latest actors added to Levy’s workplace comedy, according to Variety. The trade says that Goodman will play the “ultimate boss” to Vaughn and Wilson, who are unemployed salesmen vying for a coveted internship position at a cutting-edge tech company. Needless to say, both men are behind on the tech learning curve, and face stiff competition from other, younger interns.

Andre – a regular on Conan O’Brien’s late-night talk show – has been cast as a mentor who will help Vaughn and Wilson reach their full potential. But the actors will be joining an expansive roster of talent that already includes Max Minghella, Rose Byrne, Dylan O'Brien, Aasif Madvi, JoAnna Garcia, Josh Brener, Tiya Sircar and Tobit Raphael.

Having that many funny people around isn’t an issue, so long as your screenplay has enough for them to do. Levy’s Internship actually will be penned by Vaughn, so we have to hope that the leading man has a grasp on what he needs from this cast to make his pitch sing. Vaughn and Wilson have been circling a reunion project for some time now. They’re adding funny pieces to Internship. Levy’s comedy will be out sometime in 2013.
