At this stage, I can't imagine that any actor would feel really enthusiastic about working with Charlie Sheen. His antics behind-the-scenes were made very public earlier this year and his attitude generally doesn't really work in collaborative efforts. Still, since his breakdown he has landed a few gigs, including A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III, the new film from director Roman Coppola. But while an established star may not want to find him or herself working with Sheen, and up-and-comer would likely relish the chance, hence this news story.
Katheryn Winnick, best known for her roles on television shows such as Bones and Law and Order, has landed the lead role alongside Sheen in the Coppola film. The movie is about a graphic designer who has all the fame, money and love in the world, but sees his life go in the toilet when his girlfriend breaks up with him. According to Variety Wennick will play the female lead, but it's unclear if that means she will be playing the girlfriend who dumps Swan or if she is another character entirely. Jason Schwartzan, Coppola's cousin, is also set to star in the movie. Previous reports linked Aubrey Plaza to the movie, but her name isn't mentioned in the new story.
It really does seem as though Sheen is on the mend, as he is also linked to a new television show based on the Adam Sandler-Jack Nicholson comedy Anger Management and his public appearances have been a bit more positive in recent months. Let's hope he can keep it that way and not make Winnick's potential break-out part a terrible one.
