Star Trek Into Darkness, despite the fact that J.J. Abrams really doesn't want you to know anything about it, has been blasting us so hard with marketing materials in the past few weeks that we kind of feel like we've seen the whole thing. In fact, I've written a variation on that last sentence so many times lately that I'm exhausted from talking about how exhausted I am by all this promo. Can we see the damn film already so I can stop telling you guys how ready I am to see the damn film already?
At least when we're talking about clips, like the one above that premiered at Yahoo!, there's actual content to talk about-- though here I'm more interested in the snippets of Michael Giacchino's score than yet another scene focusing on the imminent destruction of the Enterprise. But below we've also got a new poster, and what do you know-- it's also of the Enterprise! This time it's being overshadowed by a much bigger ship, the USS Vengeance captained by Benedict Cumberbatch's John Harrison, and seems to be under heavy fire. Or are those just J.J. Abrams' signature lens flares?
Star Trek Into Darkness, at long last, opens on May 17, and we've got plenty of Trek geeking-out planned for you before that happens. Are you as exhausted by the marketing as we are, or is your geek excitement still high for what J.J. Abrams has to offer?
