Leslie Bibb's Star Is Born

It’s always good to know when a movie is labeled a “star vehicle.” After all, individual fame is far more important than the integrity of an artistic medium. We all know that movies are more of a popularity contest in seeing which actor or actress’ name can appear in letter larger than the film’s title. In fact, studios build whole films around making a cash cow out of the talent. The latest cash cow to be milked is Leslie Bibb (of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby), who will star in the comedy The Bachelorette Party, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The comedy is based on Karen McCaullah Lutz’s novel about the antics of a Los Angeles bachelorette party. Before Bibb gets her wacky on in Bachelorette Party, she’ll play a fast talking reporter in Iron Man. From a bit part in a comic book movie with the likes of Robert Downey Jr. Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow to a starring role in her own chick-flick comedy, it looks like Bibb’s star is about to be launched into orbit. Time to start lining up to buy tickets.
