Man Of Steel Gets Its First TV Spot

The summer blockbuster season begins early next month with the release of Shane Black's Iron Man 3, but if we're jumping ahead Man of Steel most definitely lands on our "most anticipated" list. Not only is the combination of Zack Snyder's visual style and Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer's storytelling fascinating, every bit of footage we've seen thus far from the film has been compelling and beautiful - and that includes the brand new TV spot that you see above.

While the latest preview from the movie doesn't show off any footage that hasn't previously been featured in other trailers, it's still hard not to marvel at the way its put together. The film looks absolutely gorgeous, and it's impressive how intriguing the voice-over is. I can't say that I've ever been a fan of Superman, as I've always found it hard to be excited about an invincible superhero, but I'm very interested in the angle that's being taken here, looking at the character as an alien trying to find his place on Earth.

A retelling of the origin story, Man of Steel follows Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) as he grows up in Smallville, is molded by his Earth parents (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane) and becomes the hero known to our world as Superman. The brilliant cast also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lora Lor-Van, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, with Christopher Meloni, Antje Traue, Richard Schiff, Harry Lennix, and Tahmoh Penikett in supporting roles. Look for it in theaters June 14th.
