Later this year Michael Shannon will be seen up on the big screen as General Zod, one of the most legendary villains in Superman's rogues gallery. In the comics the character has done some truly terrible things, from trying to take over Krypton (before it was destroyed) to multiple invasions of Earth. But before Shannon unfurls whatever Zod's master plan is in Man of Steel this summer he will be seen as a much different kind of villain in a much different kind of movie - specifically, a real murderer in a drama based on a true story.

In his career as a hitman Richard Kuklinski killed over 100 people and in The Iceman Shannon will bring that story to cinemas. The first trailer dropped before the movie premiered at the Telluride Film Festival last August but with the movie heading to theaters in May Millennium Entertainment has sent out a brand new one. Check it out below.

Directed by Ariel Vromen, The Iceman tells the story of Kuklinski as he gets pulled further and further into the world of contract killing all while maintaining a family life completely separate from his work. Vroman co-wrote the screenplay with Morgan Land based on both the Anthony Bruno book "The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer" as well as the Jim Thebaut-produced documentary The Iceman Tapes: Conversations with a Killer. The all-star cast also includes Chris Evans, Winona Ryder, Ray Liotta, David Schwimmer, Stephen Dorff, and Robert Davi and the movie is set to go head to head with Iron Man 3 on May 3rd.
