Kermit The Frog has done quite a bit for the public relations of frogs everywhere. Once seen as just slimy, high-jumping amphibians, the leader of the Muppets has shown that they can be confident leaders, hard workers and even snappy dressers. As far as the species has come, however, you still can’t convince Ricky Gervais that they are on the same level as humans. How do I know this? Because Mr. Gervais was wildly happy to express his frogophobia when I sat down with both him and the new Muppet Constantine at a recent press event held in Los Angeles for Muppets Most Wanted.

Of course, I’m sure that deep down The Office star really does recognize how far frogs have come simply by working so closely with one on the set of his latest movie. Even he had to give credit to Constantine’s dance skills in the movie, but rather than having me just explain it, just watch the interview above!

In the film, which is directed by The Muppets’ James Bobin, Constantine and Gervais play two international criminals who hatch a plan to use Muppets European Tour as a cover to pull off some of the most impossible heists the world has ever seen. Being Kermit’s doppelganger, Constantine is able to switch places with the Muppets leader, while Gervais’ character pretends to their tour manager.

Of course, both actors are brand new to the Muppets world, so let’s introduce their characters, shall we? Watch the clips below and get to know Constantine and Dominic!

Muppets Most Wanted arrives in theaters this Friday and be sure to check out my interview with Kermit and Miss Piggy as well!
