Mystery Team Coming To Comic Con

Our CB crew got all excited about Mystery Team when they saw it at Sundance, saying it's "a sure thing to become the next big cult hit, should someone have the good sense to pick it up and put it in theaters." Now Roadside Attractions has done that, picking it up for distribution planned for this fall, and they'll have a big presence at Comic Con in July to get everyone else as excited as Josh is.

Slashfilm, in a round-up of all the plans for this year's Con, says that there will be a booth on the convention floor for Mystery Team, as well as a panel and sneak screening. The stars and writers Dominic Dierkes, Donald Glover and DC Pierson will be there, along with producer Meggie McFadden and director Dan Eckman.

So what is this movie that you're supposed to be excited about. Per their description, "If Encyclopedia Brown, the kids from American Pie, and Nancy Drew all had sex, their baby would probably look something like Mystery Team.” The movie follows three childhood friends who started solving petty mysteries as kids, but are now 18 and still snooping around their neighbors' backyards. But what happens when they have a real mystery to handle? Of course, that's where all the fun really begins.
