Prometheus International Poster Uses A Very Similar Design

Remember the first domestic Prometheus poster? The one with the silhouette of an astronaut standing before that mysterious, shadowed head? Yeah, well, that’s basically what foreign theatergoers are finding on the walls of international multiplexes according to a poster discovered on (via ComingSoon):

Like everything else about Prometheus, the design harkens back to promotional materials for Ridley Scott’s Alien, and we’re dying to see how this new movie ties into his sci-fi classic. Plot details have leaked in recent weeks, and 20th Century Fox also released that fantastic trailer, but nothing so far has explained the origin of that massive head.

The studio’s content to stick with that tagline – “The search for our beginning could lead to our end” – which confirms the basic story of a team of astronauts (played by Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Sean Harris, Guy Pearce and Noomi Rapace) venturing to the darkest corners of our universe when they discover a clue to the origin of our species. Beyond that, virtually everything else about Scott’s sci-fi/horror hybrid remains a mystery. Prometheus has done a fairly good job of teasing its wares without spoiling any crucial details … especially when compared to other summer blockbusters who’ve yet to officially tip their hands. (Yes, I’m talking about you, The Amazing Spider-Man). We still have to wait until June 8 for Scott to spill all of his secrets. Until then feel free to speculate in the comments section below.
