Put Yourself In A Titanic Scene With New Blu-ray Promotion

James Cameron’s Titanic is preparing to make its maiden voyage on Blu-ray in 2D and 3D. To celebrate, Paramount has come up with a pretty interesting promotion to help its staunchest fans relive moments on the doomed vessel. All fans will need is a photo of themselves, a Facebook account and the will to be a little kitschy to participate.
The upcoming Titanic promotion has already begun, so fans will simply need to log in to their Facebook accounts and head over to the Titanic page to join in the fun. After submitting a photo, fans will get to choose one of three iconic moments from the movie, picking to be a part of the “I’m the King of the World,” “I’ll Never Let Go,” or “I’m Flying Jack” scenes. The app will then insert the fan photo into the moment from the film. To make the whole thing a little more fun, the photos will then be streamed in Times Square at 44th & Broadway on September 8-10.
The Titanic Blu-ray 2D and 3D release will hit the market on September 10, and will be a mammoth set replete with over 2 ½ hours of never-before-seen footage, including over 30 deleted scenes and 60 behind-the-scenes featurettes. Despite the 3D footage promising to be pretty spectacular, you don’t have to spring for the 3D copy to get the extra features, either, which is nice for those of us who haven’t sprung for 3D TV sets, yet. Cinema Blend has already spotlighted the cover art for each of the new sets, but in case you missed it, you can check out the 3D box art, below.
