The Rock Is A Holy Cow

It's been a rough road thus far for animation studios not owned by Disney or DreamWorks, given that for every beautiful Coraline there's a disaster like Delgo. But the Rock is putting his faith into the Buffalo Media and Prana Animation Studios project Holy Cow!, and if his track record with kid movies is any indication, this one may find a lot more success.

The Rock-- excuse me, Dwayne Johnson-- will be lending his voice to the main character, according to Variety, a Texas steer who seeks asylum in India, where cows are, well, holy. Writers are directors are still being tracked down, which means Johnson likely signed on without even a script to look at. That's definitely a vote of confidence, and probably a gamble that, if the movie becomes a hit, Johnson will get to be the guy who took a risk from the beginning and saw it pay off handsomely. I just hope everyone's remembering Delgo as a cautionary tale about how truly wrong these things can go.
