Ryder Signs For Sex

Can the director who made Winona Ryder the Gen X girl revive her career? That’s what fans are hoping, as Ryder signs on to work with director Daniel Waters for the first time since Heathers according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Waters next film will be the independent film Sex and Death 101, and will feature Ryder along with Simon Baker (Land of the Dead), Dash Mihok (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) and Julie Bowen (“Boston Legal”). The movie will tell the story of a man who receives an email with the 101 names of all the women he has slept with and, even stranger, the women he will have sex with in the future. Baker plays the man, Bown plays #29 on the list, and Ryder plays the feminist vigilante who wants to put Baker in his place.

The last edition of Heathers on DVD hinted at a possible reunion for Baker and Ryder, although that project would have been a new story following Ryder’s Heathers character twenty years later. This project sounds like a better idea though. Let the classic Ryder/Slater movie rest in classical peace. It’s time to show a new Ryder.
