Trailer: Adam Corolla Is The Hammer

I love background noise while I work, and since I work late at night and there’s almost nothing on television and since I live in Dallas which means there’s absolutely nothing on the radio except gangster rap and country music, my after midnight hours are usually occupied with podcasts. And no offense to all the hardworking, independent podcasters out there… but with the exception of Cinema Blend’s too good for this site Weekly Blend Audio Show, the best ones are all rebroadcasts of something that’s corporately funded. I guess that’s because they can afford better talent.

So lately I’ve been spending a lot of my late night time listening to podcasts of comedian Adam Corolla’s west coast, morning drive radio show. It’s good, and note to Adam, it’d be even better without that little toadie Teresa Strasser. Of course having her there frees Adam from having to do any corporate ass kissing himself, since she does enough for a whole gangbang of radio shows. I suppose that’s why CBS foisted her on him in the first place.

I’ve gotten a little off track here. The point I’m trying to make is that Adam Corolla is pretty funny, and now he’s made a movie which looks like it too may also be pretty funny. It’s called The Hammer, and it has Adam playing a character who seems to be an embodiement of all the stuff he thinks is important in this world, except of course girls on trampolines which would never work with Corolla’s fundamentally boobless build. He plays a carpenter who turns into a boxer, and make all sorts of wry observations about life while getting punched in the head. The wry observation about life are spot on stuff lifted right from his show, and if it’s good enough to keep him on the air in California well maybe it’s good enough to make a movie out of.
