Trailer For Uwe Boll's Far Cry Crashes And Burns

What do I say about the filmmaker who's known to stir controversy, has a 0% on the Tomatometer and is the target of an online petition with over 300,000 signatures demanding he stop making movies? How about ‘ugh?’ It’s with great sadness that I report another Uwe Boll travesty is heading our way.

Far Cry is based on the popular first-person shooter videogames featuring an ex-U.S. Special Forces operative named Jack Carver (Til Schweiger). While escorting a female journalist (Emmanuelle Vaugier) to a mysterious island in the Pacific Northwest, they’re ambushed and hunted down by a gang under the leadership of scientist, Dr. Krieger (Udo Kier). While on the run, they find and unleash Dr. Krieger’s genetically engineered beasts.

Can I say it again? Ugh. Not even Inglourious Basterds’ badass Schweiger can make this one look remotely interesting. I know coming up with meaningful dialogue is a stretch for Mr. Boll, but he couldn’t even think of some catchy phrases for the trailer voiceover? If for some bizarre reason this strikes your fancy, you can pick up Far Cry on DVD November 24th.
