True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld Joins Kevin Costner In New McG-Directed Thriller

Kevin Costner has found his first co-star for the upcoming Luc Besson-scripted thriller Three Days To Kill. Hailee Steinfeld, who is best known to movie-goers as the exceptional actress who played Mattie Ross in the Coen brothers' exception 2010 western True Grit, has signed on for a role in the new movie, which is set to be directed by McG.

The story follows a dying secret service agent who is given the chance to take an experimental cure to his disease provided he take on one final mission. Before he goes he wants to reconnect with his estranged family - and his daughter will be played by Steinfeld. The script also has a ticking time bomb element to it, as the drugs that the main character is taking have worsening hallucinogenic side effects. Deadline adds that the project has actually lost its title and will be renamed in the coming months. In addition to writing the script Besson is also producing the title through his EuropaCorp banner and is working in conjunction with Relativity Media.

Steinfeld has been tremendously busy since her big break, but what's strange is that she hasn't appeared in anything since the Coens' film debuted. 2013, however, will certainly change that. In addition to the highly-anticipated adaptation of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game, which will be out in November of next year, she also has a new adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, the teen drama Hateship, Friendship, and the music dramedy Can A Song Save Your Life? due out in the next calendar year.
