Fans of action films have to be kind of bummed when it comes to the fall and winter seasons. While the summer schedule premieres a new ass-kicking movie practically every week, the late months of the year tend to be dedicated more towards drama and Oscar bait. There are, however, some bright spots this year. This weekend audiences will have the chance to watch some robot boxing in Real Steel and December brings the fourth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, but if you're willing to wait all the way until January, you can watch Gina Carano kick some ass in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire.
Momentum Pictures, which is handling British distribution for the film, has released a new UK trailer for the flick which you can check out below.
I'm still kind of turned off by the movie's insanely generic plot line (how many times do we have to watch the "assassin gets set up by her own people" thing?) but I think that the film's action may actually make it worth your time. The clip that was shown at Comic Con was absolutely stunning and it wasn't so much about highly choreographed fighting as it was about making it look like Carano was really beating the ever-loving hell out of Michael Fassbender. If they can keep up that level of excitement for two hours we should be in for a treat.
Set to be released on January 20, 2012, Haywire also stars Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor and Channing Tatum. For more about the movie be sure to head over to our Blend Film Database.
