Winona Ryder Gets The Last Word

When last we saw Winona Ryder she was… um… where is Winona Ryder? Aside from being animated in A Scanner Darkly and a quickly forgotten role as Adam Sandler’s love interest in Mr. Deeds she’s pretty much been MIA since totally making out with Jennifer Aniston on “Friends” back in 2001.

After a long hiatus spent shoplifting Winona is back to making movies. She has several new projects on the horizon, the latest of which is the female lead in a movie called The Last Word. Production Weekly says Ryder will star opposite Ray Romano and Wes Bentley in the Geoffrey Haley written and directed film. The Last Word is Haley’s sophomore effort. His first, The Parlor exists mainly as a credit on IMDB.

The Last Word is a romantic comedy about a writer (played by Bentley) who makes a living writing suicide notes for others. You’d think he’d be subject to some sort of litigation, but this movie is about him falling in love with the sister of a deceased client rather than dealing with impending litigation.
