When your name is Sarah Connor (or something very close to it), people are going to pay more attention if you tweet about robots. That’s what happened when Sarah O’Connor shared a news story about a technician who was killed by a robot in a Volkswagen plant. Despite the tragic nature of the event, Sarah herself became a viral sensation, given the clear ties to the Terminator franchise.

Here’s her initial tweet, the nature of which was to share the news of the event. Sarah is, after all, a correspondent for the Financial Times in London.

As you can see, it was retweeted more than 7.4k times and favorited more than 4k times. According to the article, the technician was a 21-year-old external contractor who was installing the robot in question with a coworker in a plant based in Kassel, Germany. The robot seemingly malfunctioned and punched the worker in the chest, pinning him against a metal plate. He later died of his injuries and prosecutors have opened an investigation into how this occurred. Based on the tweet, however, she received countless responses like this…

…and this.

She instantly regretted the word choice, as she then tweeted how she should have thought about her name in association with the franchise. Though, in her defense, she has never seen any of the Terminator movies. Sarah also began garnering a load of new Twitter followers, and she tried to inform the public.

As of now, she still has upwards of 11.8k followers.

Ultimately, she feels horrible about how people reacted to this story. As she wrote in follow-up tweets, "Somebody died. Let’s not forget."

If this story wasn’t already weird, Sarah’s tweet comes during the week of release for the latest Terminator installment, Terminator Genisys, which is why some people initially thought this to be some sort of viral marketing. Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke portrays Sarah Connor in the sequel/reboot from director Alan Taylor. The film opened in theaters yesterday (July 1) to take advantage of the long Independence Day weekend, but Magic Mike XXL is already out-stripping its competition. Are there any Tweets about that movie online?
