The Predator franchise is making a big return later this year with the release of a new film. Directed by Shane Black, The Predator has been keeping to the shadows for a while now, but with a September release date looming, the marketing is going to have to start kicking in soon. While we're not sure when a teaser trailer is coming, Black has released a tiny taste of things to come in his new movie. See if you can try and spot the Predator in a new picture released by the director.
Okay, so it's actually pretty easy to spot him (the green lights near the bottom right corner), but you get the idea. Shane Black released this photo of a Predator in waiting for his Twitter page, writing "Shhhh...he's coming." The photo of the tranquil forest brings to mind the vast tropical jungle that served as the setting of the first Predator movie, meaning that the alien hunter is in his element in his latest flick. There has yet to be an official reveal of the Predator's costume in the movie, but perhaps this means that a new reveal is just right around the corner.
Perhaps not wanting to get lost in an extremely busy movie season that contains high-profile releases like Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War, The Predator has yet to release any footage, but this tweet may signify that that won't be the case for much longer. There's no official confirmation of that, but I doubt that Shane Black would just drop a tease if something more substantial wasn't coming soon. This film has been teased as both a return to form and a unifier of all the previous movies, and fans are no doubt eager to see what Black was able to cook up for the classic sci-fi series.
Written by Shane Black and Fred Dekker, The Predator follows a group of soldiers suffering from PTSD who take it upon themselves to fight back against the Predator in a suburban neighborhood. The film is set at some point between Predator 2 and Predators but is not a direct sequel to any other film in the series. That doesn't mean that it ignores the events of other films, as some actors have teased that this movie helps to explain the mythology. Fans can expect plenty of violence in the movie, but it wouldn't be a Shane Black movie if it didn't have any humor whatsoever.
