Fifty Shades Books Are 4 Biggest Sellers In The Country

By now, we all know Fifty Shades Of Grey is incredibly popular. From being banned from local libraries to (untrue) rumors of Angeline Jolie directing an adaptation, new stories are churned out daily about its influence, its racy content and its influence. Popularity breeds more popularity, and controversy sells copies. Put those two things together, and well, it’s really no surprise E.L. James currently has the four most popular books in the country.
That’s right. She has the top four entries on the USA Today (opens in new tab) best sellers list. Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed have all occupied the top three slots for seven consecutive weeks, but now, the next spot belongs to The Fifty Shades Trilogy Bundle, which is all three paperback books slapped together in a nifty set.
Whether people are buying it because they’re so confident they’ll like all three or because they want to own the collector’s set in addition to the others is unclear, but regardless, E.L. James is making a killing off her mommy porn right now, and all signs point to that trend continuing for months or even years.
Some people are bothered by books such as these outselling so-called higher art, but really, I’m more in favor of people reading than anything else. If they enjoy it, I say go for it, and by all accounts, people are enjoying the hell out of these three books.
