Will Katie Cassidy Return To Arrow? Here's What Marc Guggenheim Says

Now that a version of Laurel Lance has shown up on Arrow again, fans have been wondering if we can expect to see her portrayer, Katie Cassidy, in more future episodes. Well, Arrow's executive producer has an answer for you, and it sounds promising.
We have an idea for how to see her again, but we haven't made a deal with her yet. She's not a series regular anymore, so we have to make a contract with her and she's got to be available, and we haven't had those conversations. But we do have an idea. We know exactly what we do want to do.
Well, it certainly sounds like the folks behind Arrow have been planning ahead when it comes to Katie Cassidy, and that makes a lot of sense. If you think you have a way for an actress to appear on your show, you better get that idea in the pipeline as soon as possible, so that when you're ready to try to work out details with her and her team, you know all the ins and outs of what will be required of her so she has all the necessary information to say yay or nay to the request.
Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim's words, which come to us from Comicbook.com, while hopeful, also prove how difficult it can be to get someone like Katie Cassidy back on the show once they're no longer under contract. While the show already has a plan in place for how we could see Cassidy again, it would seem that they haven't yet broached the topic of another appearance with the actress or her representatives.
As Arrow fans know, Laurel Lance died at the hands of Damien Darhk toward the end of Season 4. The show has since brought the actress back for a hallucination sequence during the 100th episode, which aired in November during the annual crossover event, and in last month's midseason premiere. The last time we saw Katie Cassidy on the show, she was actually playing the evil Earth-2 doppleganger of the woman we all knew and loved as Black Canary, the villain Black Siren, who was working for Season 5 Big Bad, Prometheus. Team Arrow defeated her and had her imprisoned in an A.R.G.U.S. facility, so it's incredibly likely that, should we see Cassidy again, she'll be back on board as Black Siren.
