There are few TV shows as popular as AMC's The Walking Dead. The apocalyptic drama is currently in the midst of its whopping eighth season on the network, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. But ratings have dipped a bit in Season 8, reaching the lowest point in viewerships since back in Season 2. TWD's second season is generally regarded as one of the weakest entries, as the group of survivors spent the entire time on Hershel's farm. And now actor Chandler Riggs has revealed a fond memory of his time of the show's second season. One of his favorite memories of the show's infancy came during the Season 2 finale, when walkers overran the farm. He posted this on Twitter, saying:
It looks like Chandler Riggs liked getting his hands dirty in the Season 2 finale. Specifically, when he got to set a barn full of walkers on fire. And we can't say we blame him.
Chandler Riggs' recent tweet will not surprise many Walking Dead fans, as the show's sophomore season was generally so dull. The first half of the season revolved around the fruitless search for Sophia in the area around the farm, while the back half focused on Hershel and his family adjusting to the reality of the zombie apocalypse. There was far more action that fans are used to, although this came to an explosive head after Carl killed Shane and a giant horde of walkers descended upon their new home.
Shortly after Carl killed Shane, rescuing his father from his former best friend, they realized the massive number of walkers that were headed their way. In an attempt to keep the undead distracted, Rick and Carl lured as many of them as possible into the barn that previously held Sophia and other undead. It's here where Carl flicked a lighter into action, dropping it onto the dead and starting a huge fire. The father/son duo would be able to escape with their lives, but not all of the survivors would be so lucky. This is also the moment where Andrea was separated from the rest of the group, prompting Michonne to rescue her ahead of Season 3.
Carl has since gone through quite a transformation, becoming a deadly one eyed warrior of the apocalypse. With Chandler Riggs going off to college, fans have been waiting for the young Grimes boy to be suddenly killed off of the show. Although another popular theory claims the entire show is actually being told through Carl's perspective, meaning he shouldn't be going anywhere. We'll just have to wait and see as The Walking Dead continues on.
