Numb3rs, returning this fall for its 4th season, follows FBI Special Agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) who recruits his mathematical genius brother, Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz) to help him and his team of FBI agents solve crimes. Inspired by real events, Numb3rs shows how detective work and mathematics can come together to provide unexpected answers to some of the most challenging criminal questions.

On the season finale of Numb3rs, Charlie and Don investigated a bomb threat and in the process learned Colby Granger, one of Don’s fellow FBI agents, was a double agent working for the Chinese government. On the 4th season premiere, Spoiler Warning: Don and his team receive information about Colby and discover that everything they know about him being a double agent might not be what it seems.

I never really payed much attention to Numb3rs before. I did not know much about what the show was about and after reading up on it, I think it actually seems pretty interesting. Using complicated mathematical equations to solve crimes actually seems pretty cool. At least that angle sets this show apart in some way from other cop/FBI dramas.

I am curious to see how Numb3rs does in the ratings. Friday night at 10 isn’t the greatest timeslot, although I’m not sure how much competition it has at that day and time. Plus for those of us that can’t watch it when it’s on, I guess that’s why God invented VCRs and TiVos.

On a smaller note, I do like the use of the 3 to replace the ‘e’ in Numbers.
