Oh. My. God. The 2010 Emmy poster has arrived (via THR) and it’s … pretty damn unoriginal. After 61 years of the Primetime Emmys and 36 years of the Daytime Emmys, we don’t need to be reminded of what the statue looks like. Oh, and the Sex and the City 2-esque glitzy background doesn’t make the award any more appealing. Why not feature the show’s host, Jimmy Fallon? I’d like to bet the guy could come up with at least 100 silly ways to pose with the statue in the time it took to design this piece of work. And “Starry, starry night?” They should have gone with a shot of Fallon with his statement after he got the hosting gig, “Hosting the Emmys has been a dream of mine ever since they told me I was doing it.”

Oh well, this is what we’re stuck with until the nominations are announced on Thursday, July 8th at 5:40 am (PT).
