The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead are finally crossing over a character in the spinoff's Season 4 premiere, and AMC has uploaded the first three minutes of the episode's opening act. Check out the clip below, which features Garret Dillahunt's much buzzed about character John and a sad and somewhat creepy conversation:

Raising Hope fans probably had to stifle their laughter at first seeing the guy who played Burt talking to the dark in a cowboy hat, but it didn't take long for things to get heavy in this Fear The Walking Dead clip. Garret Dillahunt's character John sounds as though he's been alone for a long time, which is surprising considering how isolation isn't a commonly shown thing in either show at this stage. Will John's long time away from people prove to be a problem when he teams up with Morgan and the rest of the Fear The Walking Dead cast?

It's hard to say, as really the only one who knows John's story is him. It's entirely possible he spent a good deal of time in a movie theater watching movies and eating popcorn until a woman came along. Perhaps only the first part is true, and John imagined a woman that was never there. After all, what exactly happened in that whole setup that left him without the woman he claims to have known and living out of a truck in the middle of the woods? Fear The Walking Dead's newest member could just be a lonely man looking for company, or he could be a lunatic in a cowboy hat who's really good with a pistol.

So, was John pouring his heart out to a hidden stranger or a Walker? We don't know the answer for sure, but the Season 4 trailer for Fear The Walking Dead showed John gunning down a Walker in what looks to be the same scene. Just because a Walker showed up, however, doesn't mean there wasn't someone else lying in wait to see if one of the show's newest cast members was cool enough to approach. Obviously, someone gives him the green-light to join up with everyone down the road, as John is seen alongside the cast in promotional materials and show footage.

Fans will see a lot more than three minutes of Fear The Walking Dead's Season 4 premiere if they tune into AMC Sunday, April 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET. The episode will air just following the Season 8 finale of The Walking Dead which will air on AMC just prior beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET. With one of those show's ending, fans will no doubt be in need of something to watch.
