The Flash is now the most senior series in the Arrow-verse, and it will also be the last of these superhero series to return in the post-"Crisis on Infinite Earths" reality. With Oliver Queen seemingly dead and gone from the present-day superhero game after creating Earth Prime, Team Flash has a lot to figure out. The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace weighed in on the future, which involves the changes for Earth Prime and one character's life being changed "basically forever."

Eric Wallace first shared what the second half of Season 6 will look like after the first half spent so much time building to "Crisis on Infinite Earths," saying this:

Season 6B is fallout from Crisis, because everything starts with this new world that Crisis has launched. We’re on a whole new Earth now, so what does this mean? It’s a brand-new game, and there are new challenges and Team Flash has no idea what they are. They’re going to catch them by surprise.

Arrow proved that "Crisis" enacted some major changes to even the longest-running series in the Arrow-verse, so anything can happen on The Flash. Eric Wallace revealed that Team Flash won't have all the answers in the new Earth Prime reality. In fact, Team Flash "has no idea" what they're dealing with. The same could be true for Flash fans, considering the show has been building to a Crisis with Barry vanishing from the very beginning, and Barry has definitely not vanished!

With Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and even Arrow-verse newcomer Black Lightning already returning to reveal their post-"Crisis" changes, the pressure is on for The Flash to reveal how it exists in this whole new world. When asked how soon into the second half of Season 6 the changes will become evident, Eric Wallace said this to TVLine:

Immediately, in the first one back. They discuss it right up top — 'Wait, how do we deal with this new world?' And there’s a big surprise, which I’m not going to spoil. It will change one member of Team Flash’s life basically forever. We’re not messing around.

Unfortunately, Eric Wallace didn't drop any details about the spoiler-ific big surprise that's on the way in The Flash, but somebody's life is going to change in a major way! According to the description for the episode, called "Marathon," Iris' life will be threatened while Barry has to try and fulfill Oliver Queen's wish for him, while Arrow's John Diggle drops by. Will the big surprise concern one of these characters, or was the person left out of the description?

One obvious guess about an event that will change a character's life "basically forever" is Iris finding out that she's pregnant. Personally, I was waiting for Barry and Iris to realize they needed to get going on trying to make Nora back when they thought Barry would die in the Crisis, so it would fit if Iris has a bun in the oven in the second half of Season 6. That said, it would be kind of creepy if a pregnant Iris is one of the changes Oliver made for Earth Prime, so we'll have to wait and see.

Cisco's life has been in transition as he embraces an outside relationship while continuing his work with Team Flash, and of course Caitlin/Frost have been in an interesting situation. What about Ralph? Or the latest incarnation of Harrison Wells? Or somebody back from the dead? It presumably won't be John Diggle going full Green Lantern, but we can only speculate at this point.

See what happens in "Marathon" when The Flash returns for the second half of Season 6 on Tuesday, February 4 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW in the winter TV premiere lineup.
