ABC's My Generation Becomes The Next Fall Casualty

While Fox’s Lone Star may have been the first series to be cancelled this fall, I doubt any of us thought it would be the only casualty. If you were getting into ABC’s faux-documentary series My Generation, we have some bad news for you.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news, stating that ABC has halted production on the series, which aired on Thursday nights. The show was only two-episodes in and barely had the chance to draw an audience but apparently, its poor showing in its premiere week and the 31% ratings drop last Thursday for its second episode was enough to cause ABC to give up on the show. It’s unclear whether or not the already-made episodes will continue to air or if ABC is going to put something else on in its place starting this Thursday.

My Generation is a drama series about a documentary that follows a group of young adults as they reconnect and as they were ten years ago when they all went to high school together. I thought the series showed some promise and while I was still on the fence about it, it was worth giving another couple of episodes to grow. It’s disappointing that ABC’s unwilling to give thes how a chance to find its legs before calling it quits on it.
