It’s been quite a long day of renewals. NBC picked up Community, 30 Rock, and Parenthood, with each renewal causing different factions of TV viewers to breathe a sigh of relief. And ABC spent a good chunk of the day renewing a vast number of scripted shows, which is great if you are a fan, say, of Once Upon A Time or Revenge, but also sort of annoying if you were hoping for some renewals of the network's reality programs. Luckily, it has not taken long for the Disney-owned network to rectify the situation.

In a quick and certain move, ABC has renewed three veteran reality series programs. TV Line nabbed the scoop, and according to the news site, Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelor, and Shark Tank have all been given another season. Since DWTS and The Bachelor are about as veteran as reality competitions can get, with the former hitting its 15th season and the latter headed into Season 17, the renewals of those programs were not a particularly huge surprise. Because Shark Tank is not a dinosaur, its renewal seemed to be on slightly more tenuous ground.

Despite Shark Tank earning a couple of extra episodes in Season 3 and despite its great ratings for Friday TV, I really wasn’t certain I would get to see the entrepreneurial show next year. Maybe my feelings were just a paranoid gut inclination related to the fact I don’t know anyone else who has any sort of interest in the show, but I was pleasantly surprised to see ABC will bring Shark Tank back for Season 4. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed my man Mark Cuban will keep popping up as a guest judge.
