True story: one time I came home to find American Dad had been taped on my DVR. The idea of someone caring enough about the show to actually record it piqued my curiosity so I asked my roommate what the story was. He explained he'd randomly caught the first ten minutes and then had to leave to pick up his girlfriend. I nodded my head and never brought it up again. That story right there is a perfect explanation for exactly how good American Dad is. The idea of someone taking time out of their day to record it ahead of time is bizarre enough that I would question my roommate about it; however, it's occasionally funny enough that I could see someone wanting to finish an episode at a later date. If you're trying to interpret at home, that means it's worse than The Simpsons, Family Guy and early seasons of King Of The Hill, better than The Cleveland Show and exactly equal to Futurama, late seasons of King Of The Hill and Rocco's Modern Life.
So, we won't go ahead and count today's news as either a success or failure. It's just news. According to Zap2It, the Fox Network has ordered eight more episodes of American Dad to be aired, most likely mid-season. The current season began airing on Sunday nights October 3rd. Feel free to watch it, just don't plan your day or DVR schedule around it.
