Among the later of the new series to make its debut this season this Fall is NBC's Chicago Fire, a drama that takes place at the Chicago Firehouse 52 and follows the lives and dangerous work of the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics. Given the dangerous work they do and the pressure they're under, drama is likely to run high in this series. Watch a trailer for the show, and for those who don't want to wait until later tonight, you can watch the full episode online right here.
Created by 3:10 to Yuma writing team Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, Chicago Fire fire stars Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Charlie Barnett, Monica Raymund, Lauren German and Eamonn Walker. The trailer below offers a glimpse of the fast-paced drama set to take place in the series, focusing on the fire, the danger and the pressure, as well as the family element.

To be completely honest, I think Rescue Me may have ruined me for other firefighter shows for a long time, and Chicago Fire only seems to support that theory. Rescue Me did include numerous intense fire-related moments throughout the course of its run, but I wouldn't say it sensationalized the profession. Looking at the pilot episode of Chicago Fire, I'm not sure I can say the same thing, though it may be too soon to tell. It's hard to get around the big dramatic moments and the exceptionally pretty cast, but then again, maybe trying to get around that is missing the point. For those in the market for a "high-octane drama" set in a fire department, Chicago Code looks like it'll deliver.
Chicago Fire premieres tonight (Wednesday, October 1) at 10:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
