Community Going Back To Modern Warfare

“Your chemistry and sexual tension are putting us all on edge, which is ironically, and hear this on every level, you’re keeping us from being friends.”

If you were to ask me if Community could do wrong, I’d tell you that it’s unlikely. The series, while still not getting the viewers it deserves, continuously bucks trends and transcends most other comedy on television. That’s why the news of Greendale’s favorite study group returning to the field of paintball war is met with trepidation.

TVLine is reporting that the two part finale for this season of Community will see a return to the Modern Warfare storyline that saw the series put on not only it’s best episode, but possibly the best episode of comedic television in 2010. On the one hand I’m excited to see the return of paintball wars at Greendale, especially the promise of more Annie this time around. Seeing as season two has been tremendous for Annie’s character development – she is, in my opinion, the breakout character for season two – it’s fitting that she’d play a larger role. I just hope they don’t rehash the sex with Jeff in the midst of a war torn campus plot point.

Some unnamed sources are saying that while Community is returning to Modern Warfare, the new episode will have a different premise. Maybe instead of the action flick motif from last time around the new episode will be about the horrors of war.

The finale may air as an hour long event, although it’s quite likely it’d be split between 2 weeks.
