Lost Promos To Air In A Theatre Near You

While Lost fans continue to wring their hands over whether the writers strike has completely ruined the upcoming season of the show, they can catch sneak glimpses of the fourth season… on the big screen? According to E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos, ABC has signed deals to run promos of the new Lost season at theatres across the nation in advance of its unconfirmed February 4 start date.

Kristin erroneously reports that the promos will air in Screenvision and NCM chains; Screenvision and NCM are actually movie advertising firms (you can blame that knowledge on the day job) that sell ads to theatres all over the country. That means that odds are some new Lost footage is coming to a theater near you! As if the upcoming Sweeney Todd, Atonement, Juno, There Will Be Blood and I Am Legend weren’t enough to get you out there—more Jack! More Kate! If we’re lucky, more Ben!

There’s one other great tidbit of gossip in Kristin’s article: ”I've heard from Alphabet-net insiders that the upcoming eight episodes filmed so far are ‘crazy good’ and will ‘even satisfy the haters.” I remain doubtful, given that we’ll only get 8 episodes before the rug is mercilessly yanked out from underneath us and we’re left to wait until 2009 for new episodes (unless the writers’ strike ends—Please, Santa? Please?) Still, any good rumor about Lost is good news, given how much flak it got in the media for its mediocre third season (though I maintain that the second half was as good as anything the show has ever produced).

Once again, it’s looking like Lost will be the one shining beacon in what will otherwise be a dismal February full of crap reality TV and American Idol.
