Louie Season 2 Hits Blu-Ray In June Just Prior To Season 3 Premiere

Despite its small budget, Season 2 of FX’s Louie was quite raucous, filling its time with non-sequential spots and some epic guest stars. Season 2 saw Dane Cook clearing the water with the comedian, as well as featured Stephen Wright in an epic advice segment. Unfortunately, the comedian and his revolving cast of stars are on hiatus now, but if we would like to relive any of Season 2’s more epic moments, we won’t have that much longer to wait.

Louie’s second season is set to hit Blu-Ray and DVD on June 19, which is a little over a week before the critically acclaimed comedy’s third season airs on FX. Although Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is promising “exclusive bonus features,” they have yet to throw out exactly what those unforgettable extras will entail. If the disc follows the format of Season 1’s home release, however, we are likely to get episode commentary, deleted scenes, and maybe a few surprise extras.

Twentieth Century Fox has gone ahead and released the box art for the second cycle of the show and it is a little more cartoon drawing-based and colorful than the disc for the first season. If anything, the disc announcement just makes me inclined to wish the summer was a whole lot closer. If not for the Season 2 episodes, than certainly for Season 3.
