MTV Movie Awards Set To Air This Sunday

For those of us in our mid to late 20’s, one of the first indications that we’ve entered the world of grown-up-hood is when we watch a recent episode of ‘The Real World’ and realize that we can no longer relate to their lifestyle. While I’ve accepted that I’ve outgrown the network that helped define my generation, I still enjoy watching the MTV Movie Awards. If the Academy Awards were the filet mignon of film, the MTV Movie Awards would be a Big Mac with fries. While the Oscars celebrate the best of the previous year’s films, MTV celebrates movies that kids and young adults love; most of which are barely a blip on Oscar’s radar, but like the mighty Big Mac, deserve to be recognized nonetheless.

Just in time for the rush of summer movies, MTV will acknowledge some of their viewers' favorite movies from the past year. In case you forgot to mark your calendar and set your DVR for the event, the 2007 MTV Movies is set to air this Sunday night (6/3/2007) at 8:00 pm EST. The deliciously bitchy Sarah Silverman is on board to host and the list of presenters includes two hot Jessicas (Biel and Alba), Katherine Heigl, Samuel L. Jackson, John Krasinski and the recently arrested Lindsay Lohan.

MTV is still taking votes on their website for Best Movie.
