Paige Davis And Greg Tuculescu Join David Koechner In Comedy Pilot Whitey

Just to be clear, Whitey is not Whitney, though there really is only an "n" to differentiate the two titles. Whitney's an NBC comedy series that has nothing to do with David Koechner's A+E Networks comedy pilot Whitey. I say this in case anyone else finds themselves reading Whitney when they see Whitey. Moving on, Trading Spaces' Paige Davis has been cast to star opposite Koechner in the new pilot, along with Bridesmaids' Greg Tuculescu, who will play a series regular in the project, assuming it goes on to become a series, of course.

We learned back in April that Koechner (The Office, Anchorman) was set to star in a half-hour comedy pilot called Whitey, which is slated for one of A+E's networks (possibly History). The comedy comes from Leslie Greif and centers on a frustrated conservative man in his 40s who's recently laid off from his job and trying to understand the changing values of the country. Paige Davis has been cast to play Whitey's wife.

On screen, this appears to be a transition for Davis, whose TV credits consist mainly of hosting roles, including Home Made Simple, Home & Family and Trading Spaces. But she's no stranger to acting. Davis actually has a notable stage career, having played Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. She also played Gloria in the Broadway revival of Boeing-Boeing.

Also joining the cast is Greg Tuculescu, who will play a "paranoid war vet" who has a lot of whacky political conspiracy theories. He sounds like a good character to complement Koechner's Whitey. In addition to playing Kevin in Bridesmaids, Tuculescu has appeared in I Love You, Man, The Office and Community.
