Rookie Blue Picked Up For A Second Season

If you’ve been enjoying ABC’s new drama series Rookie Blue, there’s good news as the network announced today that they’ve given the series an early renewal for a second season.

Rookie Blue follows a group of rookie cops as they attempt adjust to their jobs as cops and quickly learn that the real thing is very different from their training.

After a successful premiere, the series has done well enough in its time slot on Thursday nights (9:00 p.m.) that ABC has opted to move forward with a second season, which is set to begin production later this summer in Toronto.

"We're very pleased that the show has connected with viewers, especially considering the challenge of finding an audience in the summer, and are excited to pick it up for a second season," said Quinn Taylor, senior vice president, Movies, Miniseries and Acquisitions, ABC Entertainment Group.
