WE TV Explores Adoption With New Series
From what I've heard from people I know who've explored the adoption process, it can be a very complex and emotional situation. I have no doubt that the same applies to expecting mothers looking for alternatives to raising a child. This fall, WE tv will premiere Adoption Diaries, which showcases real stories of open adoptions.
Set to premiere Saturday, September 12th at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, Adoption Diaries, the show will document the journey of birth mothers and adoptive parents as they work together to establish a future for a child. The series will focus on open adoptions, with the help of Dr. Jennifer Bliss and the Independent Adoption center. Open adoptions allow the birth mom to choose the parents who will be raising their child and also lets them remain in the child’s life in some capacity.
The series will premiere with a one-hour special on September 12th after which, three 30-minute episodes will air on the Saturdays that follow. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who will find this series interesting, either because they have their own experiences with adoption or because they’re exploring the option themselves. I think it’s a fantastic idea for We to be doing this kind of show and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more series on this subject in the future.
