Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead was divided, and so too may the characters be as things move forward. We’ve got some people who seem quicker to pull the trigger (or see it pulled) than others. And based on the promos for next Sunday’s episode, more conflict is in the cards as the series moves forward through Season 2.
I shared my thoughts on last night’s episode (“18 Miles Out”), here. For those who are ready to look ahead (spoilers ahead!), we’ll start with the promo that aired last night, and from the looks of it, shows Randall and another guy being escorted to the barn. We also see a snippet of a conversation between Shane and Andrea that suggests a possible mutiny...
This one (via Spoiler Guide) gives us more of a look at what seems like an interrogation scene (or just some anger being unleashed) between Darryl and some guy, who I’m pretty sure isn’t Randall, given what we saw in the promo, which showed what looked like Rick and Darryl escorting Randall and some other guy to the barn. Whoever the guy is, he was apparently trying to take the farm. Is he associated with Randall? Or is this just a bad coincidence? (Or, as pointed out by one of our commenters, maybe it is Randall after all).
Finally, we have AMC’s sneak peek, which has Dale confronting Shane and making a case against killing someone, presumably Randall (but possibly the other guy?).
I like Dale’s outlook in seeing how killing the guy will change their group. It does seem like they’re coming very close to a line that, once cross, can’t be uncrossed. And while I’m siding with Dale on this - at least, based on what we know right now about Randall - I think it might be interesting if this whole situation comes back to backfire on the group, or more specifically Shane, if the group sides with Dale/Rick (and anyone else against killing a wildcard player like Randall).
We’ll have to wait and see how things turn out next Sunday night when “Judge, Jury, Executioner” airs. In the meantime, check out our breakdown of last night’s episode here!
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
