February is almost upon us, and with it brings the return of The Walking Dead for the second half of Season 5. AMC has given us a proper trailer for the remaining episodes, along with a description. Check it out below...
After the tragic events of the mid-season finale--as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC--Rick Grimes' band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day to day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope. Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp on to what little they have left. Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick's group and the dead is starting to blur.
Spoilers if you're not caught up through the first half of Season 5!
Following up on the previously released promotional video, which hinted at the hard survival theme that's happening here, AMC has released this "Another Day" trailer, which gives us some actual glimpses of what's ahead for Rick and the rest of the characters on The Walking Dead.
The video and the description both point to times being as tough as ever for Rick and his people. Between losing Beth, just when they thought they got her back, and finding out that Eugene's big cure was just a tall tale, it's likely that everyone is some level of disappointed and grief-stricken. What's more, where are they going? From the trailer, it seems like they're on the move again, as we saw a variety of backgrounds, including what appears to be a neighborhood...
And this lovely garden of limbs...
What is going on there?
We get a glimpse of Daryl doing his thing...
And a flash of something that seems terrifying, at least for Maggie, Glenn and Abraham. Are they trying to keep the door shut?
In the wake of where things left off at the mid-way point of The Walking Dead Season 5, it's definitely going to be interesting to see the direction of this series, both literally and figuratively. We know there are new faces on the way, for one thing. And then there's the matter of the varying levels of anger and grief that Rick and his people are dealing with and what all of that is building up to.
We'll hopefully have a better idea of what's ahead in a matter of weeks, as The Walking Dead returns for the rest of Season 5 on Sunday, February 8 on AMC. Meanwhile, we can continue to countdown the days, and set our hopes high for the potential spinoff that's in the works.
