Fright Night (2011)
Fright Night Synopsis
Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

Check Out Some Clips Before Fright Night's December 13 Blu-Ray Release
Good news: If you have been waiting on the December release of Fright Night, you only have 5 more days to go. If you didn’t see Fright Night, but you did head to theaters to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1, you should totally get your ass on board for this vampire story. Why? Vampires are cool regardless of form, especially if you get to watch a badass actor (Colin Farrell) play one and another pretty cool actor (Anton Yelchin) fight off said vampire.

Fright Night Gets A December Blu-Ray Release
There’s been a weird trend of well-reviewed directors deciding out of nowhere to do a random remake. Craig Brewer’s Footloose opened to positive reviews today. Likewise, Lars and the Real Girl director Craig Gillespie recently released a new version of Fright Night in 2 and 3D. If you missed it in theaters, you’ll be able to catch the vampire flick, starring Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin, when it hits 3D Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, and DVD on December 13th.

To 3D Or Not To 3D: Choose The Right Fright Night Ticket
If you head out to see Fright Night this weekend one of the biggest decisions you’ll face is how to see it. Colin Farrell’s new vampire movie is being shown in both 2D and 3D versions, and you’ll pay more to see it in the 3D format. We’re here to help you decide between them.

Video Interview: Fright Night Director Craig Gillespie
When I talked to Gillespie at San Diego Comic Con last month, he has just wrapped up a big panel in front of a lot of Fright Night fans who might have brought out those torches and pitchforks--but who were probably also happy to see the star of the original, Chris Sarandon, up there onstage. I talked to Gillespie about moving forward with his own vision of the movie, how he picked Colin Farrell

Interview: Anton Yelchin On Going Vampire Hunting In Fright Night
Anton Yelchin already revived two very iconic pop culture characters as both Kyle Reese in Terminator: Salvation and Chekov in Star Trek. In Fright Night Yelchin is playing Charley, the high school student role originated by William Ragsdale in the first film, who starts to suspect that his next door neighbor Jerry is a vampire

Interview: Colin Farrell Gets Over His Fear Of Judgment In Fright Night
Colin Farrell knows as well as anyone that you didn't want a Fright Night remake. The actor who's shown himself to be fearless in his movie roles, playing everything from Alexander the Great to an Irish fisherman in love with a mermaid, says he had to "silence that voice" in his head that reminded him how people usually react to a remake

This Rotten Week: Predicting Fright Night, Conan the Barbarian, One Day & Spy Kids 4 Reviews
What does Hollywood when do when it runs out of ideas and the summer movie season is drawing to a close? It remakes a movie from a couple of decades ago. Then it remakes another one. Then they throw in another installment of a kid's series. And finally they chuck a love story in there for the ladies. Boom. Weekend covered.

International Fright Night Trailer Reveals A Few Too Many Surprises
If director Craig Gillespie and his cast, which includes Colin Farrell as the predatory vampire next door, have added anything new to the classic story, you want to be surprised by what comes up, right? If that's the case I might urge you not to watch this new international trailer

Comic Con 2011: Live Blogging The Fright Night Panel
There have been many kinds of vampires here at the San Diego Comic Con this year. First there were wimpy emo vampires at the Twilight panel yesterday and then just a few hours ago we got our first look at Kate Bekinsale’s sexy Selina in Underworld: Awakening. Now it’s time to bring vampires back to their horror roots with Fright Night.

New Fright Night Trailer Offers First Look At David Tennant Vampire Hunter
The movie stars Anton Yelchin as a kid whose life gets turned upside down when a vampire, played by Colin Farrell, moves in next door. At some point he goes to Tennant’s Peter Vincent for advice, and Vincent gears up to go vampire hunting with him. Check out the trailer.

Fright Night 2 Being Planned, May Star David Tennant And McLovin
DreamWorks is considering turning the franchise over to David Tennant for Fright Night 2. The followup would take place in a new city where Peter Vincent not only has to deal with vampires, but potentially other unexpected problems. Evil Ed wouldn’t be the movie’s villain, they’d go another direction, but Evil Ed will be in it.

Fright Night Clip Has Colin Farrell Theatening Anton Yelchin
Earlier this month I posted a feature about my trip to the edit bay of Fright Night, the horror remake directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, David Tennant, Imogen Poots, and Toni Collette. As part of that article I wrote up detailed descriptions of the four scenes I got to see, but now you can see one of them for yourself.

Fright Night's First Poster Looks Awfully Familiar
In terms of Fright Night posts, today has been truly insane. Beginning at midnight we've brought you my edit bay report, an interview with star Anton Yelchin, the film's first trailer, and yet another interview, this time with Colin Farrell and director Craig Gillespie. But we're not done yet.
Edit Bay Interview: Fright Night's Colin Farrell And Director Craig Gillespie
If you haven't already noticed, this special Friday the 13th has kind of turned into Fright Night Day. It all began last night when I posted my behind-the-scenes experiences from the film’s editing bay as well as my roundtable interview with star Anton Yelchin. Just a little while ago the film’s first trailer went online, so now I’m back with the second half of my interviews.
Fright Night Trailer: Colin Farrell Is The Worst Vampire Neighbor Ever
You may have already caught the details from our visit to the edit bay of Fright Night, the DreamWorks project that remakes the 1980s horror comedy. Now IGN has released the first official trailer for the Craig Gillespie-directed film, and you can watch it below

Edit Bay Interview: Fright Night's Anton Yelchin
Starring in a remake is hard enough, but it becomes even harder when you’re remaking a bona fide cult classic. This August, when the Craig Gillespie-directed Fright Night hits theaters, critics and fans are going to be endlessly comparing Anton Yelchin’s performance to William Ragsdale’s, the actor who played Charley Brewster in the original.
Edit Bay Visit: Going Behind The Scenes Of Fright Night
Back in the late 90s, director Gus Van Sant decided that he wanted to remake one of the greatest horror films of all time: Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. Rather than trying to improve upon the original (practically an impossible task) or tell a similar story in a different way, however, however, Van Sant decided to make an almost shot-for-shot duplicate.
Two New Fright Night Images Show Off Colin Farrell's Vampire Powers
As talented and entertaining I find Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and David Tennant, I think the real reason why Craig Gillespie's remake of Fright Night is going to work is because of Colin Farrell. The guy is truly an authentic talent and the role of vampire Jerry Dandrige - originally played by Chris Sarandon - is a pretty cool part. Don't believe me? Scope out the two new photos below.

Even More Fright Night Images
Here’s even more from Fright Night, the upcoming DreamWorks remake of the 80s horror movie of the same name. This version stars as Anton Yelchin as a kid named Charlie who has a vampire move in next door. Colin Farrell plays the vampire, and Charlie has to get rid of him.

First Look At Fright Night, Plus Video Interview With Colin Farrell And Craig Gillespie
With the announcement that director Craig Gillespie will be the guy that finally brings Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to the big screen, a realization occurred: we've seen practically nothing from his upcoming Fright Night remake. Set to be released in August, we've seen nothing more than a banner poster from the movie, and that was all the way back in September.

Fright Night Beams Up Star Trek's Anton Yelchin
The folks behind the remake of Fright Night have just about sealed the deal with the lead actor, Anton Yelchin. I doubt there’s a person out there who’d find anything but perfection in Yelchin’s casting. The guy has an unbelievably wide range and a knack for nabbing your sympathy.
