The Rock Has Dominated 2013 To The Tune Of Almost $1 Billion
Besides having some of the most talked about action movies of the year on his resume, The Rock can also boast that three of his most recent ventures hit #1 at the box office. To date, his 2013 releases have made more than $956 million! But movies aren't the only medium The Rock is dominating this summer.

Fast & Furious, Thor, Star Trek And G.I. Joe: Why Is Everyone Blowing Up London?
So, seriously 2013 blockbusters, what do you have against London? The city has replaced New York as the go-to metropolis for destruction seemingly overnight, and for no particular reason we can discern. Sure, London has been having its own cultural moment lately, hosting the Summer Olympics last summer, bringing James Bond back to home turf in last year's Skyfall

Weekend Box Office: 42 Hits A Homerun, Scary Movie 5 Strikes Out
No one really wanted Scary Movie 5. Seven years ago audiences turned out to give Scary Movie 4, what easily should have been the last one, a decent send off with a very respectable $40 million opening and a domestic total of $90 million. But some folks don't know when to let it go and audiences showed just how last decade the franshise is.

G.I. Joe 3 Happening After G.I. Joe: Retaliation's Big Box Office
The sensational sequel earned $51 million domestically, which while $3 mil less than Rise of the Cobra earned on its opening weekend was still enough to put it at #1. But that's not all! Retaliation earned box office love worldwide, and so already boasts a global box office total of $132 million, which is enough for Paramount to promise G.I. Joe 3 will happen.

Your G.I. Joe Saturday morning cartoons were never in 3D, and neither were the comic books. So why does a movie based on them have to be? Well, the short answer is "because it's a big blockbuster, and nearly all of them in 3D these days," but you probably knew that already

5 Hilarious And Stupid G.I. Joe Products That People Actually Bought
Don’t think of the following article as a big middle finger toward GI Joe. Think of it more as a stream of good-natured insults, much like the ones you would give a buddy if you found out he secretly slept with a truly unfortunate woman. I like the idea behind turning Snake Eyes and Chuckles into money-making machines, but for the love of Cobra, I just can’t figure out why they thought anyone would ever buy these specific offerings

G.I. Joe Retaliation Was Delayed Due To Spider-Man And Channing Tatum
But the other reason for the move is Mr. Channing Tatum. Watching the trailers for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, it's pretty clear that Tatum, who played Duke in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, bites the big one early in the film. With 21 Jump Street and The Vow performing as well as they did, however, the studio is thinking that killing Tatum off wasn't the best idea in the world.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Pushed Back To March 2013, Will Be Converted Into 3D
After Paramount decided to bring on Jon Chu to direct G.I. Joe: Retaliation, it was a bit strange that they announced the movie would be in 2D. After all, Chu is best known for having directed both Step Up 3D and Never Say Never, the 3D Justin Bieber concert documentary. Still, we shrugged it off because we here at Cinema Blend always prefer 2D films. But now something very strange is happening.

Final Poster For G.I. Joe: Retaliation
There are some days when I think that Photoshop should be banned from Hollywood. The industry used to constantly produce posters that could be seen as legitimate art, but nowadays it's more likely that we see fake fireballs, floating heads and ridiculously over-airbrushed faces. It's likely that nothing will ever be as terrible as the character posters released for X-Men: First Class (those will forever live in infamy), but now we have the final poster for G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

New G.I. Joe: Retaliation International Trailer Brings Even More New Footage
G.I. Joe: Retaliation begins when the military outfit is ambushed and nearly every member of the team is killed. Able to survive the attack, Roadblock, Flint and Lady Jaye (Johnson, Cotrona, Palicki) work to not only find out who is responsible for the attack on their unit, but take them to justice. And to do that, they enlist the help of the original G.I. Joe, played by Bruce Willis.

While a good amount of what you just watched was included in the sizzle reel, there were some other awesome-looking sequences that were left out. Of them, my personal favorite was a sequence featuring Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) doing battle in a tight hallway, with the Cobra fighter throwing shuriken after shuriken at the G.I. Joe ninja, with the hero deflecting each one with his various weaponry.

G.I. Joe Super Bowl Spot Reveals Cobra Commander
I still have a hard time understanding how Stephen Sommers managed to screw up Cobra Commander so badly in the first G.I. Joe movie. In addition to the fact that he had Joseph Gordon-Levitt (one of the best young actors of this generation) playing the character and completely wasting the potential, the character also looked incredibly stupid clear/silver gas mask-looking helmet.
