Machete Kills Again In Space Is Actually Happening
If you saw Machete Kills in theaters, then you probably also saw that hilariously ridiculous trailer for something called Machete Kills Again…in Space. At the time, we thought that was all we were going to get of the supposed third installment of the Danny Trejo-led franchise, but the man himself has confirmed that this is in fact in the works.

Sin City 2 Is A Mess Behind The Scenes Too
Things didn't exactly go too well for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For when it was released in theaters back in August. The movie was largely dumped on by critics (a big contrast compared to the reception of the first movie back in 2005) and then it completely underwhelmed at the box office (another big contrast).

This Week In Home Entertainment: Blue Jasmine, Machete Kills And More
If you were to have (or do have) a stack of Woody Allen films in your home and you were about to watch one with a group of friends, Blue Jasmine would not be at the top of the pile. In fact, it probably would be at or very near the body of the pile. Not because it lacks humor. Not because it lacks a decent cast or a well-written script. Blue Jasmine is a fine movie, with all of the necessary elements to earn it a few Oscar nods. It’s also an uncomfortable one.

Machete Kills Will Fight Its Way Onto Blu-ray And DVD In January
Machete Kills was a sequel no one asked for, but that doesn’t mean it’s the worst thing you could buy into. After all, Rodriguez was still on board to direct this time around, and a slew of famous faces also joined the cast. Soon, Universal Studios Home Entertainment is bringing Machete Kills onto Blu-ray and DVD on January 21.

Weekend Box Office: Gravity Holds Strong To Number One, Machete Gets The Ax
There was big continued pull on audiences from Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi thriller Gravity this weekend. After setting a record for the highest October opening last weekend, the movie held on strong, dropping just 20% and maintaining a death grip on the number one spot. Adding $44 million this weekend, it handily crossed the $100 million mark winding up at $123 million domestic and nearing the $200 million level internationally.

Machete Kills' President Charlie Sheen Calls For Legal Marijuana And Nude Tuesdays
The above clip, via IndieWire, presents just a piece of the radical world that Danny Trejo’s titular character Machete calls home. The (hypothetical) President wants marijuana legalized, and also wants to incorporate Nude Tuesdays into the daily way of life. Aw shit yeah, right?

Fall Movie Preview: The Profit vs. Prestige Venn Diagram
Welcome to fall movie season, where it's all about awards bait if you look in one direction (hello, August: Osage County!) and all about oddball blockbusters if you look in another (happy to see you, Riddick). Like any other time for movie releases, autumn is all about what you make of it, whether that's catching the three-hour French drama about lesbians or counting down the days until The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. But if you want an advance look at which films are begging for awards and which are best paired with a giant tub of popcorn, look no further

Machete Don't Tweet In New Machete Kills Trailer
Machete Kills is a very real movie, as crazy as that still seems. The unlikely sequel to the unlikely Machete, all based on a fake trailer for the unlikely Robert Rodriguez-Quentin Tarantino collaboration Grindhouse, Machete Kills brings back Danny Trejo as the titular fearless killer

Machete Kills Poster Gives Charlie Sheen A New Name, Declares Him As President
First announced to be part of the cast back in June of last year, "Estevez" will be playing the President of the United States in the upcoming Grindhouse thriller, which sees Danny Trejo return in the title role. The film sees the President and Machete forge an alliance in order to stop a psychotic weapons dealer (Mel Gibson) from launching a missile into space.

Michelle Rodriguez Rocks A Bad-Ass Eye Patch In Machete Kills Poster
Rodriguez will play She in the sequel, which means (I suppose) that she’s different from the character of Luz in the 2010 original. In true sequel fashion, is implementing the plan of escalation, pitting our hero (Danny Trejo) against an “eccentric billionaire arms dealer” who has an elaborate global plan to take over the world.

Machete Kills Spanish Trailer Surprises With Off-The-Wall Cameos
I love the opening, with the President of the United States (Charlie Sheen!!) sparing Machete (Trejo) from the gallows because he has one mission only this killer can perform. And almost every image crammed into the new minute of edited footage screams “Grindhouse,” from the massive blades to the bodacious curves of Trejo’s various female co-stars.

Sofia Vergara Has Bullet-Spewing Boobs On Machete Kills Poster
Robert Rodriguez loves few things more than the combination of busty gals and guns. With Machete Kills, Rodriguez takes his love of blending sex appeal and violence to a bawdy new place. A new poster for Sofia Vergara's character reveals the brothel madame Desdemona busting out Fembot-style with a double-barreled machine gun bra.

Robert Rodriguez Sued For Allegedly Threatening A Rival Danny Trejo Action Movie
Danny Trejo was working as an actor long before Robert Rodriguez cast him as the knife-throwing badass Navajas in 1995's Desperado, but one also can't ignore what the director has done for his career. Not only has Rodriguez cast him in nearly all of his directorial efforts, but many of the films he has produced as well.

Machete Kills Slicing Its Way To Theaters This September
It's pretty amazing that Robert Rodriguez was given the chance to actually make a sequel to 2010's Machete. Not only was the project born out of a flop - Grindhouse only making $25 million on a $67 million budget - but the first Machete didn't exactly blow the doors off of the box office, making only $26 million during its run.

Spy Kid Alexa Vega All Grown Up In First Machete Kills Image
It was 11 years ago that Robert Rodriguez made 12-year-old child actress Alexa Vega a star by casting her as the pint-sized butt-kicker Carmen Cortez in the family-friendly action-comedy Spy Kids. But now, for their fifth collaboration, Rodriguez has given her a chance at a more mature role in Machete Kills. And from the first look of Vega as KillJoy, it's clear she's no longer the little girl we all remember.

Take A First Look At Amber Heard In Machete Kills
There are a number of beautiful women featured in Robert Rodriguez's upcoming sequel Machete Kills. Not only are Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba set to reprise their roles as Luz, and Sartana, respectively, they will be joined by the likes of Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Vanessa Hudgens and Alexa Vega. Sadly only one of them could be featured in the first official still from the new movie, but it looks like Amber Heard won the lottery as her character Miss San Antonio.

Michelle Rodriguez Down For Machete Kills And A Sixth Fast & Furious Movie
Those who stayed through the end credits of Lin’s Fast Five learned that Rodriguez’s character, Letty, had not died (as Vin Diesel’s Dom has believed), and that she has become the latest target of Dwayne Johnson’s relentless federal agent. The Fast series has transformed into a high-octane soap opera, so bringing a character like Letty back from the dead isn’t much of a stretch. That and I always thought she fit well with the brash attitude of the burly franchise.

Mel Gibson Up For Role In Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills
It's fair to say even Rodriguez thinks this is stunt casting-- that's the whole grindhouse aesthetic, after all-- but is it a stunt worth doing? Sure Gibson is controversial pretty much no matter what, but he also seems kind of distracting, and maybe even a liability

Machete Sequel Gets Financing, Will Start Production In April
At the end of Machete, the Grindhouse follow-up from director Robert Rodriguez, the filmmaker made a pretty lofty promise. The credits sequence told audiences that they could expect two sequels to the film called Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again. The reason I call it a lofty promise is because Grindhouse was fairly notorious for underperforming at the box office, as people didn't seem super excited to bring back the format.
