Danny Trejo was working as an actor long before Robert Rodriguez cast him as the knife-throwing badass Navajas in 1995's Desperado, but one also can't ignore what the director has done for his career. Not only has Rodriguez cast him in nearly all of his directorial efforts, but many of the films he has produced as well....

It's pretty amazing that Robert Rodriguez was given the chance to actually make a sequel to 2010's Machete. Not only was the project born out of a flop - Grindhouse only making $25 million on a $67 million budget - but the first Machete didn't exactly blow the doors off of the box office, making only $26 million during its run....

Spy Kid Alexa Vega All Grown Up In First Machete Kills Image

It was 11 years ago that Robert Rodriguez made 12-year-old child actress Alexa Vega a star by casting her as the pint-sized butt-kicker Carmen Cortez in the family-friendly action-comedy Spy Kids. But now, for their fifth collaboration, Rodriguez has given her a chance at a more mature role in Machete Kills. Michelle Rodriguez Down For Machete Kills And A Sixth Fast & Furious Movie

Michelle Rodriguez Down For Machete Kills And A Sixth Fast & Furious Movie

Those who stayed through the end credits of Lin’s Fast Five learned that Rodriguez’s character, Letty, had not died (as Vin Diesel’s Dom has believed), and that she has become the latest target of Dwayne Johnson’s relentless federal agent. Machete Sequel Gets Financing, Will Start Production In April

At the end of Machete, the Grindhouse follow-up from director Robert Rodriguez, the filmmaker made a pretty lofty promise. The credits sequence told audiences that they could expect two sequels to the film called Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again. The reason I call it a lofty promise is because Grindhouse was fairly notorious for underperforming at the box office, as people didn't seem super excited to bring back the format....
