Witcher 3 Patch 1.07 Includes Fantastic Features

The Witcher 3's next patch is bound to be a popular one. CD Projekt RED will be adding a much-requested feature through the update coming to all platforms soon.

Said feature is a player stash. Now you'll be able to hang onto obsolete gear that has sentimental value or high-level items you're not able to use just yet. The stash is available in various locations throughout the world for added convenience. Each will be visible on your world map. Presumably your stash works like it does in Diablo 3, in that putting an item in storage in one location makes it available at other locations.

Personally, I would've preferred some kind of trophy room. I've gotten a bunch of great-looking armor suits and weapons that I ended up just selling to vendors or breaking into crafting materials. Still, a stash will be very handy.

CD Projekt is also decluttering player's inventory significantly. You can now sort it in various ways to make it easier to find what you're looking for. Books will be moved to a dedicated tab and marked if you've read them.

Another big item in Patch 1.07 is improved "horse behavior." This is probably a reference to the poor pathfinding for Geralt's horse. When summoned, he has a tendency to show up behind an obstacle or appear 30 feet away and make no attempt at coming closer. Hopefully that behavior will be a thing of the past.

Here are the full patch notes for Patch 1.07, via CD Projekt's forums:

- A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.- A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player's map.- Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.- Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the Inventory and books that have already been read are properly grayed out.- Multiple sorting options are now available in the Inventory.- Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be "pinned", meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.- Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.- A few performance enhancements, including the optimization of FX, scenes and general gameplay.- Various improvements to horse behavior.

The patches for Witcher 3 are typically staggered across platforms. However, community lead and website coordinator Marcin Momot said they're targeting a simultaneous release for the patch:

The downside to this patch, CD Projekt says, is that they haven't had time to work on the next batch of free DLC. It won't be released this week as a result. Witcher 3's development team hasn't announced the next pair of DLC packs yet but according to the PlayStation Store, one of them will be new clothing for Ciri:

Ciri's new DLC outfit

CD Projekt previously released alternate outfits for Yennefer and Triss as well so it's no surprise Ciri's getting some extra duds as well. The outfit looks nice, too. It looks a little more combat-ready than Ciri's standard garb.
