Star Wars Battlefront Gameplay Footage Leaked From Alpha Test

A couple of new videos have been leaked for Star Wars: Battlefront, showing the game's alpha gameplay across Hoth and Tatooine. The survival mode goes on for a few waves and the other videos show the game's standard multiplayer PvP in action.

All Games Beta has the videos loaded up ripe and ready for your viewing pleasure. You can also check them out below.

The videos are definitely impressive as far as action and consistent thrills go. There's always some kind of threat present for the player during the bout and you're not safe on any side of the map, which is pretty cool.

However, there's this feeling as if this is a shell of Star Wars: Battlefront and not really an advancement on the game series that entertained many of us a decade ago. It feels like the Star Wars: Battlefront 3 project that Free Radical was working on a few years ago really captured the Battlefront feeling and then elevated it to the next level. It felt like a true evolution of the series, especially with the inclusion of the ground to space battles that were seamless throughout the battles.

Here, the battles are definitely big but they seem very contained and controlled. It doesn't quite feature that unwieldy chaos that some people might be used to from the older games. Nevertheless, DICE is definitely right in their claim that this game will not be like Battlefield. Some very basic changes like weapon cooldown instead of reloading some weapons and getting power-ups throughout the fight really add a different feel to the overall combat. We really get to see how different Battlefront is from Battlefield during the single-player survival mission where the player has to use all their skills to stay alive. Check it out below.

One thing I do really like about this new game is the way the special effects are handled. The laser fire looks perfect and I love the way they spark and smoke when they hit the rocks and other obstructions within the environment. It looks almost identical to the way the laser fire looked in the original movies.

I do wonder how many different weapons will be at the player's disposal? We've basically only seen the basic laser weapons and rocket launchers, but I do wonder if there will be diverse or unique weapons available as well? I guess we'll find out as the game nears its holiday release for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
