Today the digital gaming platform Good Old Games added another title from Square Enix's catalog. The stealth-action game Thief Gold can be downloaded through the service for $9.99.
In Thief, players take on the role of master criminal Garrett. Garrett makes living off of stealing from the City's nobles and plundering old ruins. However, an unusual job soon lands him in the middle of an ancient, religious struggle. He's the only person who can save the City from ruin.
Thief is one of the rare games that values stealth skills. Garrett's often outnumbered by enemies so he needs to stick to the shadows and pick off guards one by one. He has a variety of gadgets at his disposal, including arrows that can extinguish lanterns and flash bombs.
The Gold edition of Thief added three more levels to the campaign and five enemy types. It also fixed a number of bugs and included a level editor. GOG is throwing in a digital soundtrack as well.
This is the third Square Enix game added to GOG. The first two, Deus Ex and Hitman: Codename 47, were released last week. All three were originally published by Eidos, which was acquired by Square in 2009.
Eidos Montreal is currently developing Thief 4. It will be the first new game in the series since Thief: Deadly Shadows in 2004.
